It's wall-to-wall puppies! Click picture to see slideshow

My, what a fun day and night  American Bulldog Daisy Mae had not too long ago. She gave birth to 21 puppies in 20 hours. Ouch! We hope that’s almost a record.

Sadly, four of the little guys died during delivery, but that still leaves her with 17 puppies, if our math is correct. Her people are bottlefeeding them regularly so Daisy Mae gets a break. Despite this, her bosoms are so big that we think she really should be wearing a bra. Click here for a slideshow of that pendulous sight, and other pup-related photos. (The slideshow says it took her 6 hours to deliver, but other stories like this one from KTVU say 20, so we’re going with 20.)

What is in Daisy Mae’s future? According to her people, puppies will not be. They say they’re letting her retire from breeding. Oh, isn’t that nice of them? The puppies’ father, Groucho, says he is disappointed that he will no longer have connubial visits with Daisy Mae, but that they will at least still have their friendship, and their mutual enjoyment of chewing Kong toys.
