Here’s just one more example of what a class act Jon and Kate Gosselin are. They’ve sent their German Shepherds, Shoka and Nala, back to the breeder as part of the fallout from their divorce, according to a story on Fox News.

This makes no sense. They’ve already got eight kids. How much more work could two dogs possibly be? Don’t they know that dogs are not furniture to be hauled away when they’re no longer a perfect fit? Jon says Kate is the reason he had to ditch the dogs. He claims she won’t take care of the dogs when he isn’t at the house. (The kids are staying in the house, and the parents are the ones moving back and forth.) OK, so hire a dog walker! You’re rolling in dough! Don’t send the poor creatures away in a pickup truck!

And what kind of lesson is this for their kids — or for the millions of viewers of their terrible TV show? “Oh dogs? They’re disposable!”

We can see the handwriting on the wall. First it’s Jon & Kate Plus 8. One of the kids comes home with a mohawk. Jon & Kate Plus 7. One of the girls is whining a lot.  Two of the children need too much help with homework. Jon & Kate Plus 4. One of the boys takes up interior design. The twins find out they need braces for five years. One of the kids discovers that drumming and playing trumpet loudly are his passions.

And then there were none.

Frankly, we think Jon & Kate should be caged and shipped off in a pickup bed, and the kids and dogs should stay together. No constant TV cameras. No crazy power-and-sex-hungry moms or dads with too many “extracurricular activities.” At least the children might have a chance of growing up fairly well adjusted.
