How could a coyote eat something so fluffy? Poor Little Bit...

Jessica Simpson’s dog, Daisy, is not the first celebrity dog to be eaten by a coyote in LA this year. (We are assuming Daisy’s story does not have a happy ending.)

In July, a coyote made a meal of Ozzy Osbourne’s Pomeranian, Little Bit. (We hate to call attention to this, but in hindsight, Little Bit was a fitting name.) Fans found out the same way about Little Bit’s coyote encounter as they did about Daisy’s: Via a tweet. “My dad’s dog was eaten by a coyote last night in LA,” tweeted Kelly Osbourne. She said the Black Sabbath rocker was “devastated. She (Little Bit) was his other woman.”

Last fall, a popular LA Times blog reported that two of Paris Hilton’s 17 dogs had been eaten by a coyote. Fortunately, this turned out to be false.

We don’t think there’s a pandemic of coyotes targeting dogs of celebs. That would be a great campy movie, but it’s just a bit far fetched, even in the wacky world of Hollywood. But we do think anyone — famous or not — living in LA’s coyote country needs to be extra careful with their best friends. We really don’t want to have to write about any more of these tragic little tales.
