AP reports that the ASPCA used Facebook to track down a NY man accused of attacking a friend’s teeny Yorkshire terrier. The brute is charged with hurling the Yorkie to the pavement several times during an argument with his friend. The dog, despite weighing a very breakable 4 1/2 pounds, managed to escape with “just” a broken leg — and probably some psychological damage and a lifelong fear of the expression “pounding the pavement.”
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals couldn’t locate the man until they sniffed him out through Facebook. He was arrested at his workplace in Manhattan.
Social networking rocks! We think other animal protection agencies should put Facebook and Twitter investigations in their bag of tricks.
